2nd Annual Stigma Free Walk and Talk a Thon

  • 01 May 2019
  • 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM
  • Ramsey High School

Please mark your calendar for the 2nd Annual Stigma Free Walk and Talk a Thon in Ramsey. Registration will start at 6:30 p.m., with casual walking and talking from 7 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 1 at Ramsey High School.

According to NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, 1 in 5 people will be affected by mental illness in their lifetime. The organization is a leader in the #breakthestigma movement and designates May as Mental Health Month. Only half the people affected typically seek treatment, and stigma is often cited as the reason.

In Ramsey, we are _PROUD TO BE STIGMA FREE_ and we want you to join us! This rain-or-shine event is a low-key, one-hour opportunity to show support and to learn more. We’ll have information available, freebies to hand out, and friends to meet. What could be easier than walking and talking?

Please let us know if you plan to participate so that we can acknowledge you during the event’s very brief welcoming remarks. You can help before May 1:

Our inaugural Walk and Talk A Thon brought out more than 300 people, and we hope to grow participation this year. The event is low key – no speeches and no fundraising -- but the collective impact is powerful. We hope that you will be part of that impact and join us.
